Privacy policy

Your information, handled with care.

Last updated: October 2, 2026

This policy explains what information Roberts Famous Chicken Salad (“Roberts,” “we,” “us”) collects when you visit robertschickensalad.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We use a small number of analytics and ad-measurement tools, and we collect contact details only when you choose to send us a message.

Information you give us

The contact form

When you send a message from our contact page, we collect your name, email address, phone number, the topic you choose and your message. We use this information only to read and respond to your inquiry and to keep a record of our conversation with you.

Your submission is stored in a secured cloud database used for this website and is delivered by email to the Roberts team through an email service provider. We may also send you an automatic email confirming that we received your message. To prevent spam and abuse, we keep short-lived, one-way hashed (scrambled) versions of your IP address and email address to limit repeated submissions; these are deleted within a few hours, and we don’t store your raw IP address with your inquiry.

We never send your name, email address, phone number or message to Google Analytics or Meta. Please don’t include sensitive information in your message.

Phone and Instagram

If you call us or message us on Instagram, we receive whatever you choose to share through those channels. Instagram’s own privacy policy applies to messages sent there.

Information collected automatically

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google, to understand how visitors use the site: which pages are viewed, how people arrive (including campaign tags in links), and actions such as searching the store finder, tapping our phone number or opening directions. Google Analytics uses cookies (such as _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) and collects information such as your device and browser type, screen size, language, the pages you view, the site that referred you, and your approximate location (such as city, region and country), which Google derives from your IP address.

Google processes this information for us as our analytics provider. We have turned off Google signals and ad personalization in our Google Analytics setup, and before a page address is sent we remove search terms and other URL details except standard campaign tags. Google Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account and then deleted by Google. Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Meta Pixel

We use the Meta Pixel, provided by Meta, to measure how our Facebook and Instagram ads perform, for example page views and when an inquiry is submitted (without your name, contact details or message). The Meta Pixel may set cookies such as _fbp and sends Meta information such as the page you visited, your browser and device, and your IP address. Meta may connect this with information it already has if you use Facebook or Instagram, under Meta’s privacy policy. You can also manage ad preferences in your Meta account settings.

Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights

Our hosting provider, Vercel, gives us privacy-friendly analytics that don’t use cookies. They count page views and visits and measure how quickly pages load, in aggregate, without identifying individual visitors.

Hosting and security

Like most websites, our hosting provider processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request in order to deliver the site and keep it secure.

The store finder map

The map on our Where to buy page loads map images from OpenStreetMap, so your browser connects to OpenStreetMap’s servers, which receive your IP address. If you choose to use your location, your browser shares your approximate location with the page to sort nearby stores; it stays in your browser and isn’t sent to us. Directions links open Google Maps, which has its own privacy policy. Our fonts are hosted with the site, so loading them doesn’t contact a third party.

Cookies

Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel use cookies, and we store your cookie choice in your browser. Our cookie policy lists each one, what it does and how long it lasts.

Your choices

  • Decline or change your mind anytime. A short notice appears on your first visit, and a “Cookie settings” link sits at the bottom of every page. If you decline, Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel stop loading on our site in that browser, and we remove the cookies they set on our domain where possible. We remember your choice in your browser’s local storage, so if you clear your site data or switch browsers or devices, you’ll be asked again.
  • Browser privacy signals. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) or Do Not Track signal, we treat it as an opt-out and don’t load Google Analytics or the Meta Pixel.
  • Browser settings. You can block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings or use private browsing.
  • Google’s opt-out tool. Google offers the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, which stops Google Analytics on every site you visit.

Vercel Web Analytics doesn’t use cookies or identify you, so it stays on.

How we share information

We don’t sell the personal information you send us through the contact form. We share information only with service providers that help us run the site and respond to you (hosting, database, email delivery and analytics), and when the law requires it.

Some state privacy laws treat advertising tools like the Meta Pixel as “selling” or “sharing” personal information. You can opt out of that at any time by choosing Decline or using Cookie settings, and we honor Global Privacy Control signals as that opt-out.

How long we keep information

We keep inquiries for as long as we need them to respond to you and to keep a record of our conversation, and delete them when they’re no longer needed. Analytics providers keep data according to their own retention settings described above.

Keeping information safe

The site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access to inquiry records is limited to people who need it. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, but we work to protect what you share with us.

Questions and requests

To ask a question about this policy, or to ask us to access, correct or delete information you’ve sent us, contact us using the details below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes. We’ll post the new version on this page and update the date at the top.
