Cookies, the non-edible kind.

Cookies are small text files a website asks your browser to store. Similar technologies include your browser’s local storage and tracking pixels. This page lists the ones used on robertschickensalad.com and how to turn them off. For the bigger picture, see our privacy policy.
What we use
Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel load by default on our public pages unless you decline or your browser sends a privacy signal (see below). Durations shown are the providers’ standard settings.
| Name | Set by | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics | Tells visits apart so we can count visitors and see how the site is used. | Up to 2 years |
_ga_<ID> | Google Analytics | Keeps track of the current visit (session) for Google Analytics. | Up to 2 years |
_fbp | Meta Pixel | Measures how our Facebook and Instagram ads perform. | About 90 days |
_fbc | Meta Pixel | Set only if you arrive from a Meta ad; links the visit to that ad click. | About 90 days |
roberts-ga4-consent (local storage) | Roberts | Remembers whether you declined or accepted analytics. | Until you clear your site data |
Password-protected pages used by the Roberts team set a sign-in cookie for team members who sign in. It isn’t used for visitors on our public pages.
Tools that don’t use cookies
Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights, from our hosting provider, count page views and measure page speed in aggregate without cookies and without identifying you. The store finder map loads map images from OpenStreetMap; we don’t set cookies for it, though OpenStreetMap’s servers receive your IP address when the map loads.
How to decline or change your choice
- Choose Decline on the notice, or use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page. Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel then stop loading on our site in that browser, and we remove their cookies from our domain where possible. You can switch them back on the same way.
- If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we treat it as a decline automatically.
- You can also block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings.
- Google offers the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
